The role focuses on maintaining product standards, supporting regulatory readiness, and improving supplier performance over time.
Key Responsibilities
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with sourcing, product development, design, legal, merchandising, operations, and supplier partners to address quality and compliance matters.
- Track repeat testing issues, inspection failures, and supplier performance concerns, then summarize trends and findings for leadership review.
- Stay informed on customer and retail compliance expectations.
- Serve as an internal resource for teams that need guidance on product quality and compliance topics.
- Prepare recurring performance summaries to support supplier scorecards and business reviews.
- Maintain organized records for product quality, testing, and compliance documentation.
- Support ongoing projects and handle additional assignments from leadership as needed.
- Help improve internal processes related to testing, approvals, and vendor communication.
- Manage product testing activities tied to safety, performance, labeling, and regulatory expectations.
- Help ensure acceptable quality standards are maintained across multiple product categories.
- Train new suppliers on company quality standards, testing procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Respond to supplier questions related to inspections, testing outcomes, and product requirements.
- Review testing against care instructions, restricted substance requirements, and product performance expectations.
- Identify product issues early, recommend corrective actions, and work with partners to close out failures.
- Partner with third party labs to ensure testing is completed according to required protocols and timelines.
- Verify that reports are accurate, complete, and aligned with company standards.
- Monitor changes in domestic and international product regulations that may impact the business.
- Provide practical compliance support to internal stakeholders to help maintain alignment across teams.
- Build working knowledge of materials, trims, labeling, care content, and component level requirements.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in product compliance, quality assurance, product integrity, or a related field.
- Experience working with testing labs or product evaluation partners is preferred.
- Understanding of basic manufacturing and production workflows, especially in consumer products or apparel.
- Familiarity with product safety and regulatory standards such as CPSC, CPSIA, FTC labeling guidance, Proposition 65, and REACH.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and project coordination abilities.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.
- Interest in product testing, materials, sustainability, and responsible sourcing practices.
