Production Supervisor (3rd Shift)

Shift Schedule:

• Sunday - Friday (five nights per week)
• 9PM - 5:30AM

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor (3rd Shift) is a dynamic member of the production team. This role is responsible for leading all manufacturing operations during the shift, achieving production targets, controlling labor costs, minimizing waste, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting operational excellence initiatives throughout the facility. The ideal candidate brings strong people management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to the team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees and leads the operations of production team to achieve production schedules and customer requirements.. Ensures compliance with all work instructions, SOPs, and quality procedures pertaining to safety, production, quality control, equipment, and other pertinent operational functions.
• Monitors hourly production performance. Partners with Human Resources to implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Supports employee training, cross-training, onboarding, and skill development.
• Coordinates staffing and work assignments. Supports product changeovers and schedule adjustments. Maintains accurate shift communication logs. Participates in daily operational meetings and provides shift performance updates.
• Identifies opportunities to improve workflow, reduce downtime, and increase throughput. Supports Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Supports plant 5S, housekeeping, and showroom-ready expectations. Supports audits, customer visits, and operational reviews as required.
• Monitors raw material consumption and minimizes material waste. Verifies accurate production reporting and inventory transactions. Coordinates with Warehouse and Planning teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
• Communicates equipment issues promptly to Maintenance. Assists in prioritizing maintenance activities to minimize downtime. Supports preventative maintenance efforts and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Reviews work orders, production reports, and inventory transactions for accuracy. Completes production reports, attendance records, disciplinary documentation, and performance tracking reports.

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Manufacturing leadership experience (3 years)

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field
• Mattress, furniture, or assembly manufacturing experience
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing throughout manufacturing areas.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, moving machinery, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
• Ability to work extended hours as operational requirements demand.

• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
• Ability to analyze production metrics and drive performance improvements.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
