JOB REQUIREMENTS: Performs routine and special procedures on patients\'
tissue specimens in preparation for pathological examination. \*\*\*\*\*
OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Associate degree in
Histotechnology, or 2. High School Diploma with HT or HTL American
Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or eligibility for
certification (see below). ASCP Eligibility requirements: a. Successful
completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program within the
last 5 years prior to the date of application for examination; OR b. At
least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from a
regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12
semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include
credit hours in both), OR c. An associate degree from a regionally
accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours
(18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours
in both). \*If eligible for certification under b or c above, one year
full time acceptable experience in a histopathology (clinical,
veterinary, industry or research) laboratory in the U.S., or Canada
within the last five years is also required. Such experience must
include: \* Tissue Fixation \* Embedding/Microtomy \* Tissue Processing
\* Staining \* Laboratory Operations 3. If not certified at the time of
hire, successful ASCP Certification within one year of hire into
