CAD Lead Designer
Location: Muskegon Area, MI Classification: Non-Union
Anderson Global is an advanced manufacturing facility specializing in foundry tooling, serving customers since 1937. We're seeking an experienced CAD Lead Designer to serve as the senior designer in our CAD department, providing technical leadership and mentorship while working directly with customers and engineering leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced CAD design and modeling of foundry tooling and components
- Mentor and support other CAD designers and apprentices with technical guidance
- Assist the Director of Engineering in coordinating workloads and priorities
- Ensure adherence to design standards, data management protocols, and customer requirements
- Work directly with customers and engineering leadership to clarify design needs
- Review completed work for accuracy and compliance before release
- Collaborate with operations, manufacturing, and quality teams
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance CAD processes
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Journeyman Patternmaker certification or equivalent design/manufacturing experience.
- 10 years of CAD design experience in a manufacturing or tool/die environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Unigraphics, SolidWorks or Catia).
- Strong knowledge of foundry tooling, engineering standards, and GD&T.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to mentor and guide other CAD staff.
- Ability to work directly with engineers, manufacturing staff, and customers.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
