Cad Designer

As a CAD Designer, you will be tasked with re-drawing old designs into Inventor for current builds and creating new drawings. You will work on manufacturing transformers, focusing on the mechanical parts such as cylinders, brackets, and cores. Your role involves using winding schematics provided by an Electrical Engineer to draw transformers in Inventor. The drawings serve as both the blueprint and the work instructions for assembly and manufacturing. You will conduct design reviews, incorporate feedback, and ensure quality before production. Once designs are approved, you will upload them into the ERP system, including BOMs and drawing attachments.

• Re-draw old designs into Inventor for current builds and create new drawings.
• Work on mechanical parts of transformers, including cylinders, brackets, and cores.
• Use winding schematic information to draw transformers in Inventor.
• Conduct design reviews and make changes based on feedback received.
• Ensure quality checks before designs go to production.
• Upload approved designs into the ERP system, including BOMs and drawing attachments.

• Proficient in Inventor.
• 5 years of experience as Designer or Design Engineer.
• Ability to input BOMs and drawing attachments into ERP system.
• Experience with Epicor or Global Shop ERP.

• Motor design experience.
• Understanding of electrical properties, including AC/DC differences.
• Knowledge of heat generation by resistance in copper.

The work environment is 100% office-based, with standard hours from 7 AM to 4 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. This opportunity allows you to help the company overcome its backlog of engineering work and gain experience in a unique product line, as not many companies in the area work with transformers.

This is a Contract position based out of Grand Haven, MI.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Grand Haven,MI.
