The Quarantine Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, and preparing surveillance trailer equipment for redeployment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage surveillance trailer inventory through a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) processing methodology, ensuring returned equipment is evaluated, repaired, and returned to service efficiently.
- Inspect returned and quarantined surveillance trailers, components, and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
- Diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs on surveillance systems, trailers, and associated components, including batteries, solar panels, lighting systems, wiring, cameras, and other field-replaceable units.
- Install, configure, and test surveillance equipment, including analog and IP cameras, electronic devices, sensors, and communications components.
- Configure and verify electronic devices using mobile applications, software tools, and diagnostic equipment to ensure proper operation and connectivity.
- Conduct functional testing and quality inspections of repaired equipment and trailers to verify compliance with operational, safety, and performance standards prior to deployment.
- Collaborate with Lead Technicians, Quality Control personnel, and Production teams to resolve technical issues, identify root causes, and improve repair processes.
- Complete repair records, testing documentation, quality checklists, and other production-related documentation accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring equipment issues, recommending repair solutions, and assisting with process enhancements that improve equipment reliability and turnaround times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, maintenance, field service, equipment repair, trailer repair, low-voltage, or related technical environment.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and testing mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Working knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, wiring, cable preparation, connector installation, and component replacement.
- Experience performing functional testing, inspections, and quality verification of repaired equipment.
- Basic computer and smartphone proficiency, including the ability to configure and test electronic devices using mobile applications and software tools.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple repair activities.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with technicians, production personnel, and quality teams
