JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:                 Ski – Attendant, Rental Shop

FLSA:                         Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:           Manager, Rental Shop

SUMMARY: Rental Shop Attendants are responsible for fitting guests with rental equipment, advising them in proper use and care of equipment, and monitoring the return of equipment. Shop Attendants will also assist with locker rentals and maintaining a clean and organized rental shop.

Immediate promotion to a Lead Position is available based on performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist guests in a friendly manner through every step of the rental process.
• Provide current and accurate information to guests, visitors and fellow associates regarding rental equipment, slope conditions and general resort activities.
• Understand and operate necessary computer equipment, which includes Siriusware, sales and rental programs.
• Select and help fit customers with rental equipment, ensuring that they have a proper fit and that all necessary steps have been taken in the setup of equipment. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Assist guests in a friendly manner through every step of the rental process.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Possess strong customer service skills.
• Enjoy working with the public.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Present a neat and positive image along with a professional appearance.
• At least 1 year of work experience is preferred.
• Possess problem solving skills.
• Possess computer skills including the ability to quickly learn new computer programs; experience with point-of-sale programs a plus. 
• Report to work on-time for all scheduled shifts
• Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen Handbook.
• Must be able to take on additional assignments and tasks assigned by the manager
• Represent Wintergreen Resort in a positive, professional manner
• Easily adapt to change.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:

High school diploma OR GED equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Physical demands on the incumbent consist of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds
• Incumbent must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction, and communicate verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood.
• Incumbent must have the stamina to work long hours and overtime, if assigned, and must be willing to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or varying shifts.
• Work is performed in an indoor/outdoor environment. Incumbent shall be exposed to conditions normally encountered in an outdoor environment and including travel from site to site.  
• Incumbent wears prescribed personal equipment protection including protective footwear.
• Must be able to walk outside in winter conditions
