POSITION: Racquet Sports Professional
FLSA: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Racquet Sports Director
SUMMARY: The Racquet Sports Professional in at Wintergreen plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall experience of our members and guests through the promotion and facilitation of racquet sports activities. This position is designed to support the lead professionals in delivering high-quality coaching, organizing events, and maintaining the facilities to ensure a welcoming environment for all participants. The Racquet Sports Professional will be instrumental in developing programs that cater to various skill levels, fostering a love for racquet sports within the community. Additionally, this role involves engaging with members to provide personalized guidance and support, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Ultimately, the Racquet Sports Professional will contribute to the growth and success of the racquet sports program, helping to create a vibrant and active community around these sports.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the planning and execution of racquet sports programs and events.
- Provide coaching and instruction to players of all skill levels, ensuring a positive learning environment including lessons, clinics, camps and academies.
- Assist with facility maintenance as needed
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of racquet sport facilities and equipment.
- Engage with members and guests to promote racquet sports and encourage participation.
- Assist in facilitating member events.
- Collaborate with the lead professionals to develop new initiatives and improve existing programs.
- Assist in the Racquet Sports Pro Shop as needed.
- Perform racquet stringing
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification in racquet sports coaching or a related field.
- Experience in coaching or teaching racquet sports.
- Strong communication, which is essential for engaging with members and providing clear instructions during coaching sessions.
- Customer service oriented.
- Organizational skills are crucial for planning events and maintaining the facilities, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Interpersonal skills will be utilized daily to build rapport with participants and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Positive attitude and an engaging personality
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in event management or program development, will enhance the ability to create engaging programs that attract more participants.
- Knowledge of various racquet sports, including tennis and pickleball will allow the Assistant Professional to offer diverse coaching techniques and strategies, enriching the overall experience for all involved
- First Aid and CPR certification.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma OR GED.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Possess a CDL or the ability to obtain one
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Considered applicants must be able to sit in a vehicle for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs
