JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Supervisor, The Market
FLSA: Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Manager, The Market
SUMMARY: The Market Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Manager in all operational aspects of the Market. The Supervisor will be responsible for general merchandising and inventory control, scheduling staff, overseeing (and performing) cashier and deli staff functions, and training and coaching new staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by creating and maintaining a friendly and inviting consumer environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining high standards, having extensive product knowledge and all other aspects of excellent customer service.
- Maintain awareness of all store promotions and advertisements.
- Supervise staff and provide coaching and training on an on-going basis.
- Maintain store appearance and cleanliness.
- Maintain and order inventory as needed.
- Oversee vendors and deliveries for inventory control and order accuracy.
- Assist Manager with marketing, product development and new product introduction.
- Assist Manager with product pricing and inventory control.
- Assist Manager with staff scheduling.
- Assist Manager with all store operations as requested by Manager.
- Accurately handle cash and deposit duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required, including early morning shifts
- Must be able to travel to and from in any weather conditions.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all Wintergreen staff and employees at all times
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to deal with a diverse customer population.
- Ability to learn POS systems and all required computer applications.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma OR GED
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to move and handle inventory and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping and reaching
