JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Transportation - Driver
FLSA: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Transportation Manager
SUMMARY: Wintergreen Resort’s Drivers are responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation for our employees and guests, as well as assisting with the range of services our transportation department provides. Drivers will also assist in tasks that are done in and around the transportation shop which can range from cleaning to installation and removal of tire chains.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely transport guests and employees throughout Wintergreen Resort in a timely and professional manner
- Provide friendly, customer-focused service while assisting passengers with boarding, luggage, and directions
- Coordinate with and assist other resort departments by providing timely transportation support for staff, equipment, and operational needs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Support transportation operations by assisting with shop tasks, including cleaning and basic upkeep
- Install and remove tire chains and help prepare vehicles for varying weather conditions
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch and team members to ensure efficient transportation service
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must be able to provide excellent customer service at all times.
- This position requires good problem solving and communication skills as well as ability to safely drive for long periods in inclement weather.
- Qualified applicants will be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Drivers must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day.
- These are full and part time positions.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma OR GED.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Possess a CDL or the ability to obtain one
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Considered applicants must be able to sit in a vehicle for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs
