Contract Process Manager – Human Resources Overview
Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is seeking a Contract Process Manager to support our Human Resources team by documenting, analyzing, and improving HR processes across the employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience in business process documentation, workflow design, and lean methodologies, with a talent for translating complex HR procedures into clear visual maps and actionable recommendations.
Contract Process Manager – Human Resources Key Responsibilities
- Document end-to-end HR processes including onboarding, benefits, payroll, time & attendance, performance management, offboarding, and Workday workflows.
- Develop process flowcharts, swimlane diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) using tools such as Visio or SmartDraw.
- Partner with HR leadership, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and HRIS teams to validate process accuracy and identify improvement opportunities.
- Apply Lean/Six Sigma principles to assess efficiency, eliminate redundancies, and improve quality, consistency, and turnaround times.
- Create and maintain a standardized HR process library with version control and metadata.
- Collaborate with HR teams to align documentation with system configurations and business rules (e.g., Workday, Ivanti CRM).
- Facilitate process review sessions and gather feedback from subject matter experts.
- Track implementation progress and measure post-implementation outcomes.
Contract Process Manager – Human Resources Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required.
- Workday experience required.
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in process documentation, business process management, or operational excellence.
- Proficiency with process mapping tools (Visio, SmartDraw, Lucidchart, etc.).
- Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders in complex organizational environments.
