Winpak Portion Packaging is seeking a Demand Planner to join our Supply Chain team in South Chicago Heights, IL. In this role, you will help drive production efficiency and inventory performance by translating demand signals into actionable plans that support customer service, plant operations, and business goals. You will play a key role in improving forecast accuracy, managing inventory flow, and supporting efficient planning across multiple operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multi-site production and capacity planning activities to support operational efficiency across manufacturing processes.
- Monitor inventory levels and help maintain target service levels for customers and the business.
- Analyze demand trends, inventory flow, and planning data to support accurate forecasts and production plans.
- Identify supply chain constraints, risks, and planning challenges that could impact long-term performance.
- Partner closely with Sales and Product Management to improve forecast accuracy and planning effectiveness.
- Support inventory management strategies for finished goods and raw materials to optimize supply chain performance.
- Review and validate planning inputs, system data, and scheduling assumptions to ensure accuracy.
- Use MRP/ERP system functionality to support planning, scheduling, and inventory management activities.
- Help address demand-related issues quickly and support mitigation planning when needed.
- Oversee purchasing activities to ensure adequate material availability and appropriate inventory levels are maintained to support manufacturing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience in demand planning, production planning, inventory management, or supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience analyzing data, forecasts, and inventory trends to support operational decision-making.
- Ability to identify risks, constraints, and opportunities across the supply chain.
- Experience working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Product Management, Operations, and Supply Chain.
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and planning tools.
- Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multi-site planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Background in forecasting, inventory optimization, or capacity planning.
- Experience in food packaging, manufacturing, or other regulated production environments.
- Knowledge of production processes such as thermoforming, injection molding, printing, or related operations.
Additional Details
- This position is full-time and onsite in South Chicago Heights, IL.
- Plant floor environment includes noise and working around equipment.
- Minimal supervision is required in this role.
- Some domestic and international travel may be required.
Compensation range:
The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. The pay range is $85k-$105K. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
