WinnMed is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to join our team supporting the clinic operations at the Ossian, IA Clinic !
As a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), you will have an important role in supporting daily clinic operations and ensuring an exceptional experience for our patients. Working closely with providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members, you will perform a variety of clerical, electronic, clinical support, and customer service responsibilities that contribute to efficient, high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and room patients
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Perform blood draws (on the job training provided)
- Help maintain the accuracy and flow of patient information, including medical records, test results, and other healthcare documentation.
- Serve as a key communication resource by answering phones, coordinating verbal and written communication, and facilitating information exchange among patients, families, providers, and care team members.

Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE), Monday - Friday
- 8- hour day shifts, 5 days per week
- Located at the Ossian, IA Clinic. Hours are: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, family and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Phlebotomy training or previous experience.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Medical terminology training or knowledge.
- Previous experience in a health care environment.
- Completion of C.N.A., Health Unit Coordinator, Medical Assistant, Health Information Management or other health related program.
