We are seeking a high-performing Assistant Golf Professional to join our team and help lead the daily operations of our busy public golf course. This role blends golf instruction, operations management, tournament execution, and staff leadership. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience running the day-to-day of a golf facility and can build structure, processes, and standards where none exist today.

Responsibilities
Golf Instruction & Player Development
- Teach golfers of all ages and skill levels through private lessons, clinics, and group programs.
- Develop personalized coaching plans and assist with junior programming.
- Ensure safety and proper etiquette on the course and practice areas.
Daily Golf Operations
- Act as the on-duty manager overseeing the pro shop, starter/ranger teams, cart barn, and practice facility.
- Manage the tee sheet, enforce pace of play, handle customer issues, and maintain strong service levels.
- Create, document, and implement operational SOPs in an environment with limited existing processes.
- Oversee cart fleet cleanliness, rotation, charging, and maintenance coordination.
- Maintain the driving range, practice areas, and course signage in coordination with maintenance staff.
Tournament & Event Management
- Assist with outings, leagues, and tournaments, including pairings, scoring, rules sheets, staging, and awards.
- Manage event-day logistics and ensure smooth execution for all participants.
Pro Shop Management & Merchandising
- Oversee daily pro shop operations, POS accuracy, and customer service.
- Manage inventory: receiving, tagging, cycle counts, reordering, and vendor communication.
- Develop merchandising standards and support retail sales.
Staff Leadership & Training
- Train pro shop, starter, ranger, and cart staff on service standards, sales techniques, and operational procedures.
- Assist with scheduling, onboarding, and creating a culture of professionalism across the operation.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in golf operations required; experience running or heavily supporting a golf facility strongly preferred.
- Experience teaching or coaching golfers of various skill levels.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lead staff, solve problems, and manage a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable building systems and processes independently.
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and event days as needed.
