We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our coffee team for a long-term position. Previous barista experience is not required. In fact, we prefer to train the right candidate from the ground up so they can learn our systems, standards, and methods exactly as we operate them.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
- Operate POS systems such as joe coffee and verifone efficiently for cash handling and sales transactions
- Engage with customers warmly, taking orders accurately and providing friendly service to enhance their visit
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation and handling areas
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and smooth café operations
- Restock supplies, monitor inventory levels, and assist in food preparation when needed
- Follow all food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety
- Help with Convenience Store Duties
- Operating the cash register and handling customer transactions
- Stocking shelves and rotating inventory
- Maintaining store cleanliness and presentation
- Assisting customers with purchases and questions
- Learning daily store procedures and operational standards
Requirements
- Previous barista experience or strong coffee knowledge is not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during shifts
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing
- Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling, and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work on weekends reliably
- Experience in the food industry or retail environment is advantageous but not mandatory
