Wings is hiring Youth Mentors to support adolescents in their journey toward recovery and personal growth.
Wings is an adolescent residential facility providing treatment for substance use and mental health disorders. Our mentors play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and structured environment where youth can heal and thrive.
Position Details
- Schedule: Evenings and weekends
- Hours: 25–36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for youth in the program
- Provide guidance and support in personal, educational, and social development
- Plan and facilitate educational and life-skills activities
- Assist with conflict management and de-escalation
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with all clients at all times
- Provide dependable and consistent supervision
- Collaborate with counselors, administration, and other staff
- Administer medications after training by nursing staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of youth interactions and progress
- Facilitate family visits, phone calls, and Zoom sessions
- Transport clients to outings, recreation, and programming as needed
Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to submit to a background check
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
- Valid driver’s license preferred (required for driving clients)
- Ability to arrive early or stay late when coverage is needed
- Previous experience in youth services, residential care, or crisis prevention is preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support adolescents
