Based in Cecilia, Kentucky, our 25–30 person team builds the heavy-duty infrastructure that keeps the rail industry moving. We are looking for a versatile, detail-oriented Metal Processing Specialist to lead our cutting and prep department.
The Role: The Foundation of Every Build
The Processing Department is the heartbeat of our shop. We aren’t just looking for a "saw operator"—we need a specialist who can navigate a wide array of industrial machinery to prep precision parts for our fabrication team. From shearing plate to threading pipe and burning shapes on the plasma table, you are the one who ensures our welders have a "perfect fit" every time.
What You’ll Do (Equipment & Responsibilities)
- Precision Cutting: Expert operation of Horizontal and Vertical Band Saws for structural steel and tubing.
- Plate & Sheet Work: Utilization of the Shear and Press Brake for high-accuracy metal forming and sizing.
- Custom Processing: Operation of the Plasma Cutter for custom shapes and the Ironworker for punching and cropping.
- Machining & Threading: Running Multiple Size Drill Presses and the Pipe Threading station to meet specific design requirements.
- Material Logistics: Safely moving raw 20ft stock and heavy plate using Overhead Cranes and Forklifts.
- Quality Assurance: Deburring parts and verifying every dimension against blueprints before they hit the fabrication floor.
What You Bring to the Team
- Machine Fluency: Proven experience operating a variety of metalworking machinery (Shears, Brakes, Saws, etc.).
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read technical drawings and translate them into a high-efficiency cut-list.
- The "Tape Measure" Standard: Absolute 100% accuracy with measuring tools and shop math.
- Industrial Grit: Comfortable with heavy lifting and the physical demands of a high-output manufacturing environment.
- Reliability: A "measure twice, cut once" mindset and a commitment to keeping the shop organized and safe.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour (Based on experience).
- Uncapped Growth: Pay is not capped at $20.00. We believe in rewarding versatility and high-level machine expertise.
