PRODUCTION SPECIALIST

SUMMARY:

The Production Specialist provides support and guidance to manufacturing in the areas of manufacturing processes, equipment operational capabilities, and equipment maintenance and equipment installation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Review manufacturing needs and recommends manufacturing processes and machinery to meet company needs.

· Develop detailed specification for machinery.

· Negotiate pricing and delivery on machinery.

· Prepare and issue Purchase Orders for machinery purchases.

· Maintain records on machinery purchased.

· Direct, lead and perform installation of machinery.

· Provide day-to-day support to plant maintenance personnel on an as needed basis.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelors Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or ten or more years experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment

· Steel processing industry experience highly desirable

· Verbal, written, interpersonal, problem-solving, and project management skills

· Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks

· Proficient in MS Office Suite applications

· Ability to travel 50%
