What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Maintenance Technician position at Wilson County Schools, TN?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Post-secondary education or training is preferred;
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English;
- Able to lift/move 50 pounds;
- Able to walk/stand for long periods of time;
- Working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration equipment;
- Knowledge of chiller and boiler operations;
- Geothermal experience is a plus;
- Be self-starter, able to work efficiently with little supervision; and
- Maintain a valid TN driver's license.
At least two (2) years' comparable work experience is preferred.
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the safe condition of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment in all district buildings, ensuring a condition of operating excelllence at all times.
This is a 12-month, 260-day position with insurance and retirement benefits. Pay will by determined by documented comparable work experience and placement on Grade 6 of the Hourly Classified Salary Schedule. Starting rate of pay will be no less that $16.07 per hour.
