What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Maintenance Technician position at Wilson County Schools, TN?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Post-secondary education or training is preferred;
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English;
- Able to lift/move 50 pounds;
- Able to walk/stand for long periods of time;
- Basic knowledge of various hand tools and their uses; and
- Maintain a valid TN driver's license.
No technical certifications or licenses are required, but either would be beneficial.
At least one (1) year of comparable work experience is preferred.
The successful candidate will perform general maintenance duties at various schools/locations throughout the district, and will help maintain school buildings and equipment in a condition of operating excellence.
This is a 12-month, 260-day position with insurance and retirement benefits. Pay will by determined by documented comparable work experience and placement on Grade 6 of the Hourly Classified Salary Schedule. Starting rate of pay will be no less that $16.07 per hour.
