What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant IV position at Wilson County Government?
This position receives requests from clients (individuals and professional contractors) to determine property location within the County for applications for Improvement Permits and/or Construction Authorizations, Reuse Authorizations, Repairs for Existing Septic Systems, Additions to Property, Water Sample Requests, and Migrant Housing. This position also assists clients and collects all Environmental Health-related applications and associated fees (e.g., Food, Lodging & Institutions, Swimming Pools, Child Care Centers, etc.) submitted by clients. Wilson County GIS, Wilson County Tax Administration Record Search, and Wilson County Register of Deeds Index Search is utilized by this position to identify and verify property information. This position is also responsible for the mailing or other distribution of completed Improvement Permits and/or Construction Authorizations, Repair Permits, Reuse Authorizations, Additions Letters, Migrant Housing and all other correspondence to the client (s) and contractor (s). Additional responsibilities of this position include answering any general questions that the client (s) and professional contractor (s) may have and having the responsible party sign the appropriate documents and to ensure that On-Site Application site sketch plans are submitted correctly and ensures proper legal representation documentation is obtained when necessary. This position is responsible for collecting fees and issuing receipts associated with the Wilson County Environmental Health Fee Schedule.
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and education.
