What are the responsibilities and job description for the Museum Guest Relations position at Wilmington Railroad Museum?
The Wilmington Railroad Museum is seeking a hard-working, self-motivated, high-energy team member with strong communication and service skills to join the Museum Gift Shop and Ticket Office. MUST BE WILLING TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAY EVENTS.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the cash register
- Make cash, check, and credit card sales
- Assist customers with information
- Excellence in customer service
- Take special orders and route mailing requests to manager
- Update point-of-sale inventory
- Restock, assist in merchandising and display, and cleaning and straightening of shelves
- Accurately close out, count money, make sales reports, and deposits at end of day
- Light housekeeping of the gift shop and restrooms
- Acts as supervisor when manager is unavailable
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Must have cash handling and retail experience.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to perform light lifting, climb ladder and physically able to stand for long periods
Education and Experience:
- Some college
- One or more years’ experience in sales and customer service
- Interest in history desirable
