Maintenance Technician (Part Time)

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in keeping spaces safe and welcoming, and can take initiative while managing a variety of maintenance and facility needs.

No two days are the same. You'll help maintain our buildings, rental properties, and grounds while supporting a welcoming environment for staff, volunteers, and the individuals and families we serve.

In This Role, You Will

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections at Willis Dady facilities and properties, including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs.
• Maintain grounds and outdoor areas, including landscaping, snow removal, and general upkeep.
• Respond to maintenance needs at Willis Dady rental properties and help ensure units are safe and ready for new tenants.
• Identify safety hazards, address maintenance concerns, and assist with emergency preparedness and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with room setup and breakdown for meetings, events, and agency activities.
• Assist with occasional custodial needs to help maintain clean, organized, and welcoming spaces.
• Monitor maintenance and cleaning supplies and communicate inventory needs.
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers while maintaining a professional and positive presence.
• Adhere to all agency and program guidelines, policies, procedures, and safety requirements, with the goal of advancing and fulfilling the agency's mission, vision, and values.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge or training in general maintenance and custodial duties
• Current driver's license, clean driving record, vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle for business use. Work-related mileage expenses will be reimbursed by Willis Dady.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects with changing priorities
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and occasionally respond to facility needs outside of regular business hours
• Ability to safely move objects up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with staff, volunteers, and individuals experiencing homelessness
• Commitment to Willis Dady's mission and agency values, including meeting people where they're at and acting with integrity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of HVAC systems and routine HVAC maintenance
• Experience with basic electrical and plumbing repairs
• Experience performing preventative maintenance on mechanical or electrical systems

Additional Requirements:

• Insurable driving record
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and other required screenings
