ASL Specialist—Outreach
WRSD is seeking an ASL Specialist to join our Outreach division to provide world language instruction to hearing students in public schools based on contracts with school districts as well as implement individual instruction as requested by the contracting school district.
Primary Duties
- Assess the language needs of each child and plan an appropriate language program.
- Assess educational materials and be an active participant in the selection of materials in conjunction with administrators.
- Provide language instruction as determined by individualized educationale programs as appropriate.
- Attend team reviews as appropriate and provide written quarterly progress reports as appropriate.
- Evaluate each student’s American Sign Language development using formative assessments regularly.
- Responsible for short and long-term planning of daily lessons and activities and for providing written plans and schedules for substitute teachers. Provide ASL instruction to high school students earning world language credits.
Salary : $47,000 - $88,000
