Nursing Care Philosophy

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
- Level I, Level II, and fetal monitoring certification within one year of hire
- Care of the Obstetric Patient - Level I
- Care of the High Risk Obstetric Patient - Level II
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring or AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
Performance Standards
- Plan patient care on an individual basis, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes
- Function independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to areas
- Handle, transport, store, prepare, administer medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- Document accurately and timely
- Reassess patient's condition, evaluate patient response, and modify plan of care accordingly and in a timely manner
- Accept charge responsibilities and assign staff with consideration of patient condition and care requirement, acuity, and complexity of patient's condition
