Wilkes University invites applicants for Athletics Content Creator in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Wilkes is a member of NCAA Division III, Landmark Conference, and Middle Atlantic Conference (ice hockey) serving over 500 student athletes.
Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations, this member of the athletics communications team has a passion for sports storytelling, specializes in short-form video content (TikTok/Reels), and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for producing, shooting, and editing engaging photo and video content that highlights our athletes, showcases our coaches, and enhances our digital presence to increase fan engagement.
A bachelor's degree is required for this two-year grant supported position through the NCAA Pathways Program with the ideal candidate having prior experience at the collegiate level. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Video & Photo Production: Produce, shoot, and edit high-quality video (long and short-form) and photo content for social media, recruiting, web, and in-venue boards.
- Social Media Strategy: Create platform-optimized content for Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), and YouTube that increases brand awareness and drives fan engagement.
- Game Day Execution: Lead content capture on game days, producing quick-turnaround highlights, hype videos, and behind-the-scenes footage.
- Storytelling & Branding: Develop creative, trend-setting content concepts that showcase student-athlete life, community initiatives, and Wilkes University brand.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, organize, and manage photographic and videography equipment.
- Collaboration: Work with the athletic communications staff, marketing team, and coaches to align content with overall athletics department strategic goals.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
