What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Instructor, Chemistry Laboratory position at Wilkes University?
Wilkes University seeks adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate chemistry laboratory courses beginning in Fall 2026, with possible continuation in Spring 2027.
Laboratory instructors are responsible for:
- Conducting laboratory sessions
- Maintaining a safe laboratory environment
- Guiding students through experimental techniques
- Grading assignments using provided rubrics
Laboratory materials, procedures, and grading guidelines are provided by the department.
Courses may include:
- Organic chemistry laboratories
- General chemistry laboratories
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in chemistry or related field preferred; candidates with significant relevant experience will be considered
- Prior teaching or laboratory experience preferred
This is a part-time, term-based position with the possibility of multiple sections.
