What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Instructor position at Wilderness Presidential Resort?
As a Water Aerobics Instructor at Wilderness Presidential Resort, you’ll lead energizing classes for participants of all fitness levels, demonstrating proper techniques and offering modifications to ensure everyone feels supported. Reporting directly to the Director of Recreation, you will also work under the guidance of the Recreation Leadership Team to help maintain a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment. In addition to teaching, you will ensure the safety of patrons in and around the pool, respond to emergencies as needed, and assist with daily pool operations such as enforcing safety rules, monitoring conditions, and supporting overall cleanliness and organization.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Current Water Aerobics/Fitness Instructor Certification (ASFA or nationally recognized equivalent)
- Preferred: Previous experience teaching water aerobics classes and/or leading a variety of fitness classes for participants of all ages and skill levels
- Preferred: CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certification (knowledge of emergency medical procedures strongly valued)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while following guidance from the Recreation Leadership Team
- Available to work a combination of weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability and stamina to sit, stand, and be outdoors for extended periods, including exposure to sun and pool environments
- Ability to handle constructive feedback and maintain professionalism
- Knowledge of customer service standards and commitment to delivering excellent guest experiences
