Job Summary

Security is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and property. This role provides a visible, professional presence in the park, enforces park rules and safety policies, and responds to incidents or emergencies promptly and effectively. Security Team Members work closely with their supervisor and other departments to prevent and resolve issues while maintaining a guest-focused approach.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain Safety & Security: Patrol assigned areas to ensure guest, employee, and property safety; identify and address potential hazards proactively.
  • Incident Response: Respond quickly and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, or guest concerns; follow established protocols for documentation and escalation.
  • Policy Enforcement: Enforce Park rules, safety standards, and regulations consistently, using professional and guest-friendly communication.
  • Guest Interaction: Provide assistance, directions, and reassurance to guests as needed; serve as a visible, approachable presence throughout the park.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with Security Supervisors, other departments, and team members to coordinate responses and ensure smooth operations.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Accurately document incidents, safety hazards, or suspicious activity; submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Operational Support: Assist with crowd management, special events, and park openings/closings as directed by supervisors.


Additional Responsibilities And Requirements

  • Attends all required training and pre-shift meetings.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and supervisors to ensure a smooth and positive guest experience.
  • Performs other duties or special projects assigned to support business needs.
  • Friendly, approachable, and customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear and concise information.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in difficult or stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain focus during repetitive tasks.
  • Flexibility to work in various areas of the park as assigned.
  • You must be able to wear the required uniform and adhere to the dress code.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and guest satisfaction.


Qualifications, Education, And Experience

  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, hospitality, or crowd management preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stay calm, professional, and decisive in stressful situations.
  • Good verbal communication skills; able to interact courteously with guests and team members.
  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and emergency response protocols (training provided if needed).
  • Integrity, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to take direction and work collaboratively.
  • Guest-focused mindset; committed to creating a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, or other safety/emergency certifications preferred but not required.


Cognitive and Physical Demands

  • Assess situations quickly, determine appropriate actions, and escalate to Director when needed.
  • Remain calm and respectful during conflicts or stressful situations; apply customer service best practices.
  • Stand and move within assigned post/entry lanes for extended periods.
  • Lift and move equipment up to 25–35 lbs.; push/pull gates or stanchions as required.
  • Reach, grasp, and manipulate items.
  • Bend, stoop, or kneel briefly.
