What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Product Evaluation Technician position at WIKA USA?
PURPOSE
Evaluate customer returns and provide timely feedback to customers. Drive improvements to reduce recurring defects that will result in improved customer satisfaction.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:
Technical Evaluation & Analysis
- Perform thorough evaluations of all products returned from customers.
- Determine failure mode for any defective products.
- Perform visual and functional inspection of returned products to ensure original specifications are met before a restock determination can be made.
Root Cause & Problem Solving
- Assist QETs with root cause investigations as needed.
- Make recommendations for process improvements and corrective actions based on findings. This may include escalation to require internal corrective action(s).
Repair, Disposition & Material Handling
- Perform rework/repair of defective product OR disposition for rework/repair in the cell.
- Take containment actions as required for additional inventory based on evaluation findings.
Documentation & Reporting
- Generate evaluation report with clear documentation outlining failure mode and disposition.
- Complete necessary actions to close NCRs in the ERP system and attach evaluations along with other relevant documentation in the document handler.
Quality & Continuous Improvement

- Take containment actions as required for additional inventory based on evaluation findings.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to communicate technical terms and evaluations both verbally and through written reports.
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office products. (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong analytical skills.
- High mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of WIKA products and processes preferred.
- Knowledge of quality systems and quality control processes preferred.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
