Position Overview
Widescope Consulting and Contracting Services, LLC is seeking a Yellow Ribbon Specialist to support the coordination and execution of Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) events and services. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality, mission-driven experiences that support Service Members, Veterans, and their families through engaging, well-organized events and resource programs.
The ideal candidate is early in their career, highly organized, and brings a strong background in event planning, hospitality, or military program support, with the ability to manage logistics, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure seamless event execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Yellow Ribbon events, workshops, and outreach initiatives
- Manage end-to-end event logistics including scheduling, venue coordination, vendor management, and on-site execution
- Serve as a point of contact for participants, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure all events are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with program objectives
- Track attendance, collect feedback, and support reporting requirements
- Maintain compliance with government protocols, access requirements, and operational standards
- Provide administrative and coordination support for program activities as needed
Required Qualifications
- Must possess (or have previously possessed) a valid Common Access Card (CAC) and be eligible for access to government systems and facilities
- Proven event planning or coordination experience (military or civilian)
- Must be located in or near Chicago, IL
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in the military, particularly experience related to the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program
- OR experience in hospitality, event management, or customer-facing roles
- Associate’s degree, technical certification, or higher (Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required)
- Experience working with government programs, military populations, or community outreach initiatives
