Duties
- Loading and unloading cars from ferries;
- Maintaining engines and hydraulic systems & checking engine fluids and fuel daily;
- Checking safety equipment;
- Maintaining fittings, cables, and rollers;
- Cleaning ferries & ferry houses;
- Communicating with the public
- Operating ferry cables for river traffic;
- Maintaining ferry logs; and
- Maintaining messages on the ferry hotline.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED;
- Boat operation experience; Excellent customer service & communication skills;
- Ability to work long daily shifts;
- MD Driver's License Class C or better with good driving record;
- Successful completion of Maryland Department of Natural Resources Boater Safety Course.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
- A comparable amount of experience & training may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
