About the Role:
The Housekeeper role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at Hillside Terrace Senior Living. This position focuses on delivering high-quality cleaning services to ensure all assigned areas meet established standards of hygiene/sanitization, cleanliness and presentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and organizational guidelines. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions accurately, and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adhering to all company policies and procedures! Ultimately, the Housekeeper contributes significantly to the comfort and satisfaction of residents and visitors by upholding a consistently clean and orderly setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to speak, read, and write English to understand and follow instructions.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including reaching overhead and floor care.
- Ability to withstand walking, standing for most of the 8 hour shift, pushing/pulling/lifting 50lbs.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Basic mathematical skills to perform measurements and inventory tracking.
- Reliable attendance/punctuality and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Mutual respect toward all coworkers, residents, families and visitors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in a residential or commercial setting.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Certification in cleaning or sanitation practices.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor polishers or vacuum cleaners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing to maintain floor care standards.
- Follow oral and written instructions to complete daily cleaning schedules and special requests accurately.
- Use manual dexterity to handle cleaning tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Reach overhead and other difficult areas to clean surfaces, fixtures, and vents as required.
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas by disposing of waste properly and replenishing supplies.
- Perform basic mathematical computations to measure cleaning solutions and track inventory usage.
- Communicate clearly in English to understand instructions and report any maintenance or safety issues.
