Location: Sierra Vista, AZ (local candidates preferred; hybrid schedule possible for strong remote candidates able to travel regularly)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Controller to lead our dispersed accounting team and ensure the financial health, compliance, and efficiency of our organization. This role requires both strategic oversight and day-to-day involvement in financial operations, with a strong focus on leadership, technology, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically distributed accounting team, fostering growth, collaboration, and leadership potential.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant; oversee the company’s annual audit process.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and a high level of service to business units, customers, and leadership.
- Technology & Innovation: Leverage financial systems and technology to drive automation, insights, and efficiency.
- Banking & Controls: Manage banking relationships, financial platforms, and execution of internal controls and financial policies.
- Confidentiality & Compliance: Maintain best practices for handling sensitive and confidential financial information.
- Analysis & Insights: Provide financial metrics, analysis, and ad hoc reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Controller or senior finance/accounting leader.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance.
- Track record of building, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams.
- Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to engage in both strategic and operational work.
- Proficiency with financial systems and technology platforms.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
