Job Title: Supervisor, Clerical Services
Position Function: Lead and coordinate districtwide support for school-based clerical operations by supervising clerical services staff, facilitating training and onboarding, and ensuring consistent implementation of district business and operational procedures.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
Equipment: This position may require the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with WPS guidelines for equipment use.
Travel: Scheduled and impromptu trainings on-site at various schools occur on a frequent basis. Travel between schools and central offices is required. Some in-state travel may be required.

Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Supervise the district's clerical services team and provide leadership, direction, and performance manage to ensure high quality service to schools
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new school-based clerical staff, ensuring employees are prepared to perform responsibilities related to student enrollment, nutrition services, transportation, financial operations, and other operational functions
- Partner with district leaders and school principals to support hiring, placement, and retention of clerical staff
- Deploy roving administrative staff to support high-needs buildings and coordinate short-term coverage to maintain continuity of school operations
- Provide technical guidance and problem solving on district business and operational procedures
- Develop and implement internal training programs for clerical staff in collaboration with district departments, including coordinating 3 scheduled clerical in-service events per year
- Coordinate interim clerical training and courses
- Lead the coordination of centralized enrollment events
- Monitor student data to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, providing support and training where needed
- Facilitate communication between central office departments and school based clerical staff
- Evaluate current clerical processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency
- Coordinate interim Clerical training and courses, utilizing Canvas learning management system to create and manage digital learning content

Interrelations:
- Maintains frequent and ongoing contact with school principals, school-based clerical staff, district administrators, and central office departments to support effective school administrative operations.
- Works under the direct supervision Chief Financial Officer and works collaboratively with all district departments and leaders
- Works with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy
- Must understand and respond appropriately to customer needs and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleagues
- Must address and resolve conflicts, placing a focus on customer service
- Must be able to receive and provide constructive feedback
- Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service
- For schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee¿s supervisor or building administrator
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive and professional image of Wichita Public Schools and is appropriate for their position
- A High School degree or GED is required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Three years of WPS experience preferred
- One to two years of supervisory experience preferred
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required
