The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time Pediatrician to provide comprehensive primary care services to pediatric patients while supporting our mission to advance health equity and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to Boston’s diverse communities. This position includes a balance of 80% clinical care and 20% administrative responsibilities, with opportunities to contribute to education, care coordination, and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive, continuous pediatric care, including preventive, routine, and urgent services
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions in clinical and community-based settings
- Promote health education, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives
- Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and allied health staff
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Participate in quality assurance, utilization review, and patient care audits
- Refer patients to specialists and coordinate care as needed
- Engage in teaching, mentoring, and continuing education activities
- Participate in on-call coverage as assigned
Qualifications:
- MD or DO with completion of an accredited Pediatric residency program
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics (with expected certification)
- Active Massachusetts Physician License (or ability to obtain)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong knowledge of pediatric care standards, diagnostics, and treatment protocols
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, community health setting
