Position Summary
We are seeking a Front of House & Private Events Manager to support our General Manager in leading the FOH team and executing private events. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on the floor, builds strong guest relationships, and takes ownership of staff development and event execution. The ideal candidate balances daily FOH management with the ability to plan, organize, and deliver exceptional private events.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House Leadership
- Actively manage service on the floor: greeting guests, supporting staff, and ensuring seamless hospitality.
- Lead, train, and mentor FOH staff (servers, bartenders, hosts) to uphold Whitman’s service standards.
- Support the GM with scheduling, shift coverage, and daily FOH operations.
- Oversee opening and closing duties, cash handling, and service standards.
- Foster teamwork between FOH, BOH, and brewery staff.
Private Events
- Serve as primary contact for private event clients from inquiry to execution.
- Conduct walkthroughs, confirm details, and manage client communication.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to deliver food & beverage service for events.
- Oversee setup, service, and breakdown of all events, ensuring a smooth experience.
- Track event performance and provide feedback to GM on revenue and operations.
Team & Culture
- Lead by example: hands-on, present, and engaged in day-to-day service.
- Promote a positive, professional, and accountable work culture.
- Assist in onboarding and training of FOH staff.
- Handle guest concerns and service recovery with professionalism.
Qualifications
- 3 years of hospitality experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisor role.
- Experience coordinating or managing private events is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of craft beer, cocktails, and food service.
- Flexible, proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented.
