Senior Tax Manager (Partner Track)
Location: Brea, California (Hybrid)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our growing tax practice with a clearly defined path to Partnership. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned tax professional who excels in client advisory, technical tax planning, team leadership, and relationship management, and who aspires to take on a future ownership role within the firm.
The successful candidate will work closely with closely held businesses, family-owned enterprises, high-net-worth individuals, and trusts while helping drive the continued growth and success of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review complex tax engagements for individuals, trusts, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations.
- Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services to closely held and family-owned businesses.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key client relationships.
- Advise clients on tax-efficient strategies involving wealth preservation, estate planning, succession planning, and business transitions.
- Review complex tax returns, projections, and planning analyses to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop tax professionals, including offshore team members.
- Oversee engagement workflow, staffing, and project delivery to ensure exceptional client service.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support business development initiatives.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, and practice management.
- Participate in leadership discussions and initiatives designed to prepare high-performing professionals for future partnership.
Qualifications
- CPA required; Master's in Taxation preferred.
- 10–15 years of public accounting tax experience.
- Strong expertise in individual, trust, partnership, S corporation, and C corporation taxation.
- Experience serving closely held businesses, family-owned companies, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Knowledge of estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, and business succession planning.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring tax professionals.
- Strong communication, business development, and decision-making skills.
- Desire to pursue a long-term leadership role with a path to Partnership.
