What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Educator Intervention Teacher position at White River Valley Supervisory Union?
The White River Valley Supervisory Union, Royalton Vermont is seeking full-time licensed Special Service Educators to provide intervention services at the elementary and middle level for the 2026-2027 school year. Successful candidates will work directly with students to provide academic and/or social emotional interventions per student IEPs.
The White River Valley Supervisory Union is located in the beautiful and picturesque White
River Valley of Vermont. The White River Valley is approximately 25 minutes from Killington/Pico
Ski Resort and 12 miles from Saskadena Six ski mountain. The White River flows through our
districts making canoeing and kayaking very convenient after work or on the weekends. Hiking

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold or are eligible to hold a valid Vermont State Special Educator or Teacher licensure with a special education endorsement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with special education case management and service delivery
Excellent organization, communication and time management skills
Genuine interest in the success of all students
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Possess accurate and current knowledge of Vermont special education policies and procedures in order to be in compliance with State and Federal regulations
Maintain accurate, proper, and complete documentation associated with each student’s plan including evaluations, IEPs and progress reports
Communicate and consult with students, parents, colleagues, administrators, and outside agencies
Prepare, implement, monitor, and evaluate IEP goals and objectives
Adapt/modify curriculum and materials in collaboration with general education teachers
Complete Medicaid documentation for Medicaid-elligible students
Supervise special education paraeducators assigned to the building
Provide 1:1 or small group specialized instruction in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning skills
Collaborate with Case Managers, classroom teachers, and other school personnel
Maintain and provide IEP progress monitor data towards student achievement
Adapt/modify curriculum and materials in collaboration with classroom teachers, when needed
Maintain thorough knowledge of effective best practices for academic and social/emotional strategies for all students
