The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound Technologist) is a clinical position that provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. The sonographer is also responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment. Through collaboration with all member of the health-care team, strives to support a patient centered culture and gain knowledge and skills to further the practice of the quality of patient services provided at WMRMC. Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the sonographer exercises independent judgement in applying professional knowledge required to plan, prioritize and organize responsibilities in support of the clinical department.
This position is safety sensitive and subject to WMRMC’s Drug & Alcohol Policy.
PRN – Without Benefits
Required Education
Graduation from a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
Required Experience/Knowledge
Three (3) years ultrasound experience
Required Licensees &b Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
