This role is located in the Panhandle of WV and will provide essential support to attorneys handling a broad range of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing. The ideal candidate is customer centric, highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and prepare real estate transaction documents including purchase and sale agreements, deeds, leases, easements, title affidavits, closing statements, and related correspondence.
- Coordinate and conduct title and survey reviews; identify and help resolve title defects or issues.
- Assist attorneys with due diligence review, including gathering, summarizing, and organizing relevant materials.
- Maintain and track closing checklists to ensure all deliverables are completed and deadlines met.
- Communicate directly with clients, lenders, brokers, title companies, and opposing counsel to coordinate closings.
- Prepare and organize closing binders and handle all post-closing follow-up, including recording and filing of documents.
- Form and maintain legal entities related to real estate transactions; draft organizational documents and manage state filings.
- Support attorneys with legal research, correspondence, and other transactional documentation as needed.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma required;
- Associates degree preferred
- Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of real estate paralegal experience within a law firm setting.
- Strong understanding of real estate transaction processes, title review, and closing procedures.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems; experience with title software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
