As a CAS Assessor, you'll conduct comprehensive assessments for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings while working independently and making a meaningful impact across New York.


Position Overview

  • Position: CAS Assessor (OPWDD)

  • Employment Type: Full-Time

  • Location: Brooklyn, NY

  • Work Setting: Home and Community-Based Assessments

  • Pay Rate: $27.00 per hour

  • Weekend Availability: Required as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the approved disciplines listed below.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of post-graduate experience working directly with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a setting primarily serving the I/DD population.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems.

  • Valid New York State driver's license or government-issued NYS ID.

  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.

  • Availability to work weekends when needed.

  • Proof of degree (diploma or official proof of completion) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience conducting assessments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Experience adapting interviewing techniques for individuals with varying communication abilities.

  • Ability to effectively engage individuals, families, caregivers, direct support staff, and healthcare professionals.

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
