Role Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Associate Accountant to join our US Finance team in New York. This is a newly created role supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of our US gallery, ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and strong compliance with internal controls.
You’ll work closely with both the UK and US finance teams, delivering sales invoices to customers and support the month-end close, reporting, and audit processes.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury Management
- Monitor and reconcile daily activity across GBP, USD, EUR bank accounts
- Match incoming funds to sales and raise deposit invoices where required
Invoice Management
- Prepare on a timely basis accurate sales invoices for the US market, supporting other markets when required
General Accounting
- Support with month‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and payments in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate vendor and customer records
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and schedules
- Support variance analysis and provide explanations as required
- Compile documentation for internal and external audits
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards
- Support tax‑related filings and information requests (sales tax, VAT, etc., as applicable)
Systems & Process Support
- Work with the implementation of our new financial software – Sage Intaact
- Assist with process improvements and documentation of procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience (internships included)
- Good understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Sage preferred)
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)

Salary
$80,000 – 90,000 per annum depending on experience plus bonus and excellent benefits
