EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION
- The employee will use a variety of hand tools, such as a shovel, rake, scoop, broom, and other small tools
- Work is generally performed both indoors and outdoors, and some tasks will be performed regardless of the weather
- The employee will be exposed to loud noise, dirt, dust, and foul odors
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

- Conduct regular inspections of department facilities, including the jail, administrative offices, and outbuildings, to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Perform and oversee repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems as qualified.
- Manage preventative maintenance programs for facility systems, generators, security systems, and other critical equipment
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, work orders, and repair costs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and county officials for specialized repair or renovation projects.
- Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, including ordering supplies, tools, and parts as needed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including after-hours situations when required.
- Support jail operations by ensuring all locks, doors, cameras, lighting, and security systems are maintained in proper working condition.
