Security and Alarms Technician
LOCATION: LANGLEY, WA
Join our team as a Security & Alarm Technician, installing and supporting low-voltage security systems such as alarms, access control, and CCTV. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and providing professional service to customers.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT NECESSARILY BE LIMITED TO:
- Cable Installation - Pull, label, and route low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/6, 18/2, 22/4) in commercial and residential environments.
- Device Mounting - Install door contacts, motion detectors, cameras, card readers, and other field devices under supervision.
- System Termination - Terminate and test cables, connectors, and panels following company and manufacturer standards.
- Site Preparation - Set up ladders, tools, materials, and work areas safely and efficiently.
- Assist Senior Technicians - Support commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Documentation - Maintain accurate records of installed devices, cable routes, and daily progress.
- Customer Interaction - Communicate professionally with clients and occupants while on site.
- Safety Compliance - Follow OSHA, company, and job-site safety rules at all times.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and safe work practices.
- Ability to read simple drawings, follow verbal instructions, and complete work accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to learn technical information quickly.
- Ability to document work completed, including cable routes, device locations, and daily progress.
- Ability to learn and retain technical information in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics, climb ladders including up to 28-foot ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate (speaking and writing) in English in a clear and easily understood manner.
- Basic computer and smartphone/tablet skills.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Able to travel across the Canada–U.S. border as needed.
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.
- Eligible to work in the United States.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with construction, electrical, telecom, or IT.
- Familiarity with Cat6 cabling, PoE devices, or basic networking.
- Exposure to alarm systems, such as Honeywell, DSC, Bosch, Alarm.com, or access control.
- Interest in pursuing NICET, Alarm.com, or 06 low-voltage electrician certification.
