Platform Software Engineer Job Description

What We re Looking For

We re seeking a software engineer to help build and evolve the core infrastructure that powers our products. You ll design backend services, manage customer and internalfacing systems, and develop tooling that accelerates engineering productivity. This role is highly autonomous and deeply collaborative you ll partner closely with product teams, occasionally embed with them, and serve as the goto expert for infrastructure challenges across the company.

What You ll Do

• Design, improve, and maintain our Google Cloud and CI/CD infrastructure

• Build scalable, reliable backend services in Go

• Develop and refine platform tooling to boost reliability and developer efficiency

• Participate in oncall rotations to ensure platform stability

• Shape our infrastructure and developerexperience roadmap

• Support engineering teams and act as the escalation point for infrastructure issues

• Simplify and optimize existing systems and technical solutions

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to solve complex financial services problems

• Drive process improvements and best practices across the engineering organization

What You ll Bring

• 4 6 years of software engineering experience

• Proficiency in Go or a similar structured language (Python, Ruby, Java, Rust)

• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases

• Handson experience with a major cloud provider (Google Cloud preferred)

• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and consumption

• Curiosity, selfdirection, and a strong desire to learn

Nice to Have

• Experience with data engineering tools (Postgres, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow)

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (PCI, SOC 1/2)

• Background in earlystage, fastmoving engineering environments
