Compensation: $21 – $22/hour

Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Escrow Specialist to administer all aspects of escrow accounts, including real estate taxes, insurance, escrow analysis, and account maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of mortgage escrow processes, property tax cycles, and experience managing escrow accounts in a loan servicing environment.

This is an onsite, contract-to-hire role in Irving, Texas or Meriden, CT.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer escrow accounts, ensuring timely and accurate payment of real estate taxes, insurance premiums, and PMI/MIP.
• Reconcile tax payments and resolve delinquent taxes, duplicate bills, or overpayments.
• Manage escrow notifications to customers, including annual escrow analysis, short-year statements, and PMI termination letters in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Maintain accurate escrow account information in the servicing system, including account setup, deletions, rate updates, and account changes.
• Work with borrowers and contractors to facilitate property repairs and mortgage insurance claims.
• Monitor vendor relationships for insurance and real estate tax payments, ensuring timely processing.
• File claims and follow up with vendors as needed.
• Complete imaging and record retention of loan documents and other relevant files.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in loan servicing, escrow, insurance, or real estate tax administration.
• Solid understanding of mortgage escrow processes and real estate tax cycles.
• Experience managing escrow accounts and analyzing escrow data.
• Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with servicing systems and escrow software; MSP experience is a plus.

• Property Tax Cycles: Understanding how taxes are assessed, billed, and collected, including due dates, penalties, and discount windows for various jurisdictions.
• Escrow Accounts: Ensuring accurate payments and reconciliations with taxing authorities and vendors.
• Vendor Oversight: Ensuring data accuracy and compliance with investor, state, and federal requirements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of RESPA and other regulations governing escrow accounts, tax payments, and borrower notifications.
