Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, nail clipping, and styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Assess each pet’s coat condition and skin health, providing recommendations for ongoing care or veterinary referral if needed
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, stations, and work areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Assist with pet handling and training to ensure dogs are calm and cooperative throughout the grooming process
- Support team members with animal handling tasks such as pet sitting or kennel duties when necessary
Experience
- Previous experience in pet grooming and animal handling is highly preferred
- Experience of breed grooms preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus
- Experience with animal restraint, pet care, and general animal handling ensures safe interactions with pets of all temperaments
- Strong customer service skills are essential for building trust with pet owners and addressing their concerns effectively
