Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dog Groomer to join our team and help build our grooming business! The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in pet care, grooming, and handling. As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to pets while ensuring their comfort and safety. Your expertise will help maintain the health and appearance of our furry clients, contributing to their overall well-being.
Duties:
- Perform grooming services including but not limited to bathing, brushing, cutting, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to recommend appropriate grooming techniques and products.
- Handle animals with care, ensuring their safety and comfort during grooming sessions.
- Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs, recommendations, and aftercare.
- Monitor the behavior of pets during grooming sessions to identify any signs of stress or discomfort.
- Collaborate with Dogtopia staff when necessary to address any health concerns observed during grooming.
Skills :
- Proficient in various pet grooming techniques and styles.
- Experience in animal care and handling, particularly with dogs of different breeds.
- Knowledge of animal behavior to ensure safe handling and restraint methods.
- Background in veterinary assistance or as a veterinary technician is a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Certification in pet grooming or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
