Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Private Teacher to inspire and support students in their academic journeys. As a Private Teacher, you will work closely with homeschool and public school students of various ages and backgrounds, creating engaging lesson plans and utilizing innovative learning technologies to enhance understanding. Your expertise will help students develop essential skills across multiple subjects, including literacy, math, and critical thinking. Services may be in the homes of families, virtually, and at local libraries.
Responsibilities
- Develop personalized curricula that align with each student’s learning goals, strengths, and areas for improvement
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate modern learning technology and educational best practices
- Utilize Class Dojo and Tutor Bird to track progress and communicate with students and parents effectively
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate students with special educational needs or disabilities, ensuring an inclusive learning environment
- Prepare students for standardized tests through targeted tutoring sessions and skill-building exercises and help others reach their individual goals
- Monitor student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting instruction as needed
- Incorporate childhood development principles to support cognitive, social, and emotional growth during lessons
Requirements
- Proven experience in classroom teaching or private tutoring across diverse age groups and subjects
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment methods
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special educational needs is highly desirable but not required for all positions
- Background in childhood development, behavior management, and classroom management techniques
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to create a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and motivation
- Demonstrated writing skills for creating clear instructional materials and reports
- Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, standardized testing preparation, and tutoring strategies
